Culture

The Church of the Holy Trinity has a Gothic sanctuary dating from the 15th century, with preserved wall paintings from the same period. The church has been documented since 1346 and houses historic liturgical objects, including a chalice from the 16th century and a monstrance from the 19th century.

Likovna galerija Drempetić has been active in Donja Stubica since 1988. Donja Stubica is also associated with the historical reconstruction “Seljačka Buna – Bitka kod Stubice”, which takes place annually at the beginning of February. In the 2026 edition, the 1573 revolt was reconstructed in the town centre.

The history of Eugen Viktor Feller is also connected with the town: in 1899, he was the owner of the Holy Trinity pharmacy. In 1901, Feller had a factory laboratory set up in a newly built Neo-Baroque building next to the church. A protection order was issued in 1994 for the Neo-Baroque Feller laboratory and factory building.

Nature

The landscaped surroundings of Stubički Golubovec Castle include a northern park, parkland forests to the west and south, and the meadows of Vilinske poljane. The southern part of the Gupčev kraj area encompasses the forests of Medvednica Nature Park.

Ranch Zara in Donja Stubica is a family-run business that has been working with horses since 2012 and offers recreational horse riding in an area with views over the Zagorje hills.

Hiking trail 37, also known as Sljemenski put, leads from Donja Stubica along the Medvednica ridge to Hunjka mountain lodge. The trail is 6.1 kilometres long and classified as moderately difficult, with a rating of 4/5.

Outdoor activities and attractions in Donja Stubica include the Gupčevim krajem–Pasanska Gorica hiking and cycling trail, Grad labirinata, the swimming pools at Terme Jezerčica, a tennis court and a fitness park.
