In good snow conditions, the Ramsau am Dachstein cross-country skiing centre has more than 100 km of classic trails. In classic cross-country skiing, the skis follow a prepared track; the classic technique uses parallel tracks for this purpose. There is also a floodlit night trail that is open into the evening. Visitors can also try biathlon. Biathlon combines cross-country skiing with shooting and is therefore a winter sport in its own right.

The “ZEITROAS” museum provides an overview of the history of the municipality across 300 m² of exhibition space. It focuses in particular on the development of mountaineering and the opening up of the Dachstein region. Lodenwalker Ramsau is described as the oldest loden fulling mill still in existence in the world. Another cultural speciality is the Mühlen Advent. This annual tradition begins at the restored Old Mill in Rössing. The route passes places where nine of Ramsau’s 64 water mills once stood. The Mühlen Advent includes traditional customs, atmospheric music and traditional crafts.

Summer hikes in Ramsau am Dachstein include trails to alpine pastures. The summer offering also includes family-friendly themed trails. The hike through Silberkarklamm gorge passes waterfalls and vertical rock faces and is considered interesting for families. At Sattelberg, there is a via ferrata area with short approaches and manageable walking times. It is considered a well-established training area. However, this does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about individual difficulty, safety conditions or current accessibility.
