Pruggern for a Ski Holiday: Galsterberg, Ski Bus and Winter Trails

Pruggern combines winter activities on Galsterberg with trails through varied landscapes.

Galsterberg: Pistes, Lift Facilities and Children's Area

The Galsterberg ski area has four cable cars and lift facilities with a total of 15 km of pistes. The ski area also includes the Gallisches Kinderland children's area. The children's area is a separate section alongside the pistes and lift facilities. Galsterberg therefore combines lift facilities, pistes and an area for children at one winter sports destination.

Ski Bus from the Village Square to the Valley Station

There is direct access to the ski area from Michaelerberg-Pruggern village square. The village square is only 50 metres from the railway station; from there, the ski bus runs to the Galsterberg valley station. The 50-metre distance is between the village square and the railway station, not between every accommodation option and a bus stop.

Tobogganing and Trails Away from the Pistes

The natural toboggan run on Galsterberg is 5 km long and complements the pistes with a separate winter activity. It is therefore on the same mountain as the ski area, but is not part of the 15 km of pistes. For a winter day away from the pistes, the toboggan run is a separate option.

Several trails also lead through varied landscapes. The easy Pruggern-Moosheim P4 loop covers 5.7 km in 1 hour and 30 minutes from Pruggern to Moosheim. On this loop, the Enns is on the right; it also passes flowering fields and offers views of Stoderzinken and Kammspitze. P4 therefore combines a change of location, riverbanks, fields and mountain views in one route. On the Baumhoroskopweg trail, by contrast, the focus is on views of Stoderzinken, Kamm and Grimming.

The hike to Pleschnitzzinken can be reached from Pruggern via the Bottinghaus. The Pleschnitzzinken trail leads through old mountain forest with notably gnarled spruce, larch and stone pine trees before reaching the tree line. The tree line marks the transition from dense forest to more open mountain terrain. On the return route is the Galsterbergeralm, which serves as a place to stop for refreshments. The route therefore leads from Pruggern via the Bottinghaus into the old mountain forest and up to the tree line; the Galsterbergeralm is on the way back.

On this hike, the Galsterbergeralm is on the return route and not at the starting point.

Railway Station and Regional Products

The Regional Regal is located directly next to the railway station in Pruggern. It offers a wide selection of regional products that can be taken away around the clock. Around the railway station, there is therefore both a place for regional products and the village square, 50 metres away, as the starting point for the ski bus.
