Tratten can be explored via several named routes and local experiences. The walk to the Sachsenbrunn ponds is an easy 2.54-kilometre circular route. Other options include a running route through woods and fields, a loop to the Pass Chapel and a route through several districts. To choose, you can first ask yourself which feature matters for your stay: a specified distance, a named destination, a particular landscape or a route through localities. The routes therefore differ in their respective highlights.

Walking and hiking routes in Tratten

The walk to the Sachsenbrunn ponds is an easy 2.54-kilometre circular route. It starts and ends at the Molzbachhof. Parking is available for this route directly at the Molzbachhof and at the Sachsenbrunn secondary school car park. Its length, difficulty rating, circular format and starting and finishing point provide a clear basis if you are looking for a well-defined walking route in advance. The ponds are the named destination of the loop.

The Kirchberg running route connects woods and fields with varied scenery. It also starts and ends at the Hotel Molzbachhof. While the walk to the Sachsenbrunn ponds is defined by its length and easy rating, the landscape character is what distinguishes Kirchberg. When choosing between the two, you can consider whether a clearly measured circular route or a combination of woods and fields matters more to you.

The Pass Chapel loop has the chapel as its named destination. One of its starting points is the Molzbachhof in the district of Tratten. From there, the loop follows hiking trails to the Pass Chapel and back to the village. The sequence of starting in Tratten, walking to the chapel and returning to the village gives this tour its own route. It therefore differs both from the loop to the ponds and from the Kirchberg running route, whose distinctive feature is its landscape of woods and fields.

The Hasleiten loop runs through the districts of Sellhof, Sachsenbrunn and Tratten. Its route can be identified by the places it passes through. Together with the Pass Chapel loop, these offer two different points of orientation: the latter focuses on a named destination and the return to the village, while the former runs through several districts. A bus journey from Aspang railway station to Tratten on line 369 is described as a way to reach the Pass Chapel loop. Check the current timetable before travelling.

Nature and local experiences

At the heart of the Paradiesgart'l show garden are a clear natural pond, an energy island and a rushing waterfall. The garden also features a Celtic tree circle. This means the garden combines two water features with an energy island and a tree circle. These specific elements give the place a different focus from the walking and hiking routes mentioned above.

At the Molzbachhof experience mill, fresh bread is baked regularly from spring to autumn. This seasonal timeframe is useful if you would like to include bread baking in your travel plans: take the period from spring to autumn into account. This makes it easy to plan this local experience alongside the routes and nature destinations.

Another possible focus is BODY&MIND – Evelyn Hottwagner at Tratten 322. Sound massages using therapeutic singing bowls are offered there. Alongside walks, landscapes and garden features, this adds an offering with a completely different focus. If a sound massage interests you, arrange an appointment directly in advance.
