Simonhöhe – Ski Area and Activities for Families
Accommodation in Simonhöhe
Simonhöhe offers a clearly structured range of winter sports: the family ski area includes four easy blue slopes, four intermediate red slopes, a difficult steep slope marked red and black, as well as a children’s and practice area. This means the terrain ranges from first descents to more challenging sections. In addition, hiking trails, mountain biking activities and other options for shared days away from the slopes are available.
Key facts on the topic

Blue slopes are easy, red slopes are intermediate, and the steep slope marked red and black is difficult. The children’s and practice area is a separate section. In mixed groups, different people can therefore choose different difficulty levels. This does not constitute a specific statement about current openings, snow conditions or operating hours. For children and beginners, Paul’s Bear Land offers playful learning under professional instruction. An approximately 100 m long magic carpet complements this beginner offering. Simon’s children’s and practice area also includes three children’s and beginner trails as well as a small Mini Kids Jump Line.Mountain landscape and hiking trails
The elevation of Hocheck provides a distinctive landmark for the landscape around Simonhöhe. The “1000-Year-Old Linden Tree – Simale” route is an easy hike measuring 3.40 km. The Paulsberg Circular Trail is also classified as easy and measures 4.97 km. Those looking for a longer, intermediate route will find a 7.78 km alternative in the “Zur Schaumühle – Gall Circular Trail.” The three trails therefore differ both in length and in their stated difficulty. Above Lake Urbansee lies the Mithras Rock. An image of the sun god with a radiant halo is carved into the rock; a seating area provides an opportunity to view the image. This nearby cultural attraction complements the sporting activities with a brief point of cultural and historical interest, without itself being classified as a winter sports facility.Mountain biking, carts and other activities
Simon’s Flowtrail is 2.2 km long and classified as easy. Basic trail skills are required. Since 2022, the Bärentallift has transported mountain bikers and their bicycles to the starting point of the trails at the 1,340 m-high Hocheck summit. This transport applies to mountain bikers and bicycles, not to the general accessibility of the accommodation or ski slopes. There are further distinctions for technically skilled riders: the T02 Jumping Simon bike trail is 0.6 km long, has 65 metres of elevation gain and is rated intermediate. The Jumping Simon bike trail is also 0.6 km long and includes 65 metres of elevation gain; good trail and jumping skills are required for it. The two names and requirements should therefore not be combined into a single trail. The Simonhöhe mountain carts offer two marked downhill routes. They reach a maximum speed of around 30 km/h and are suitable for children aged 10 and over, adults and sports-minded seniors. At Simonhöhe, visitors can also explore the alpine world around Simonhöhe in the purely electric golf carts known as forest buggies. This means that, in addition to the ski area, other activities are available to appeal to different interests within a travel group. For the overarching travel overview: Feldkirchen.
