High demand for tickets

Media interest is not the only thing running high: The organizers report strong demand for tickets to the 2011 Ski World Cup in Zwiesel. According to the organizers, interest in the Ski World Cup—the final test before the 2011 Ski World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen—is “enormous.” This growing interest is primarily due to the strength of the German skiers, as the German women’s team is currently performing better than it has in a long time. With Olympic champions Maria Riesch and Viktoria Rebensburg, as well as world champion Kathi Hölzl, three German athletes are capable of reaching the podium at the 2011 Ski World Cup.

The condition of the race course at Großer Arber in Zwiesel is excellent, the organizers have now announced. The current cold temperatures and plenty of sunshine in Zwiesel, in the Bavarian Forest, give reason to hope that the 2011 Ski World Cup in Zwiesel can take place in ideal conditions for both the athletes and the spectators.
