Ski Holiday in the Dolomites: Winter Shuttle Service

A ski holiday in the Dolomites, one of South Tyrol’s most beautiful winter sports regions, promises to be even more convenient in winter 2009/10 than in previous years. This is thanks to significantly improved transport links between airports in Austria and Italy and the ski resorts of Bruneck and Gröden in the Dolomites. The key element of the new transport plan for the Dolomites in South Tyrol is a shuttle service, with more frequent departures between the airports and Gröden and Bruneck, as well as an extended operating schedule.

For the first time, starting in winter 2009/10, skiers arriving at the airports in Bergamo, Venice (both in Italy) or Innsbruck (Austria) late in the evening will also be able to reach the Dolomites in South Tyrol on the same day. From the start of the season, visitors travelling to Gröden for winter sports can take the shuttle from Innsbruck and Bergamo on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, while the shuttle between Venice and Bruneck runs on Saturdays and Sundays. The shuttle service between the airports in Venice, Bergamo and Innsbruck and the ski resorts of Bruneck and Gröden in the Dolomites operates in both directions, of course. A one-way trip costs 22 euros per person, and a return trip costs 35 euros.

The Dolomites are a ski region designated a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site, with a unique mountain landscape. Few places in South Tyrol are as beautiful for a ski holiday as the Dolomites, and apartments and hotels in Bruneck and Gröden are now even quicker to reach thanks to the expanded shuttle service to Innsbruck, Bergamo and Venice.
