ADAC recognizes family-friendly ski resorts
For its annual ski guide, the ADAC once again examined around 1,500 ski resorts this year and assessed how family-friendly they are.
ADAC judges visit 1,500 ski resorts
The ADAC judges traveled all over the world for this purpose, with ski resorts in the Alps once again standing out in particular. As part of its assessment, the ADAC awarded up to five stars in each of the categories of alpine skiing, snowboarding and hiking. Factors such as dining options, separate practice areas for children, safe lift facilities, the cost of ski lessons and lift passes, and the range of skiing on offer formed the main basis for the assessment.

Good results for German ski resorts
In Germany, Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Oberstdorf in particular scored very well. Also ranking near the top were Kronplatz and Seiser Alm (both in Italy), Les Trois Vallées and Le Grand Domaine (both in France), Montafon (Austria), as well as Savognin and Meiringen-Hasliberg in Switzerland.
High standards of family-friendliness
The ADAC found that ski resorts around the world have reached a very high standard in terms of family-friendliness, noting a marked improvement compared with previous years. Particularly encouraging, the ADAC concluded, was that ski resorts had increasingly catered to children and young people as winter tourists not just at the top end, but across the board.
