Diavolezza kicks off the “devilishly good skiing”

“Diavolezza” (the beautiful devil) kicks off the ski season as early as October 18. A small selection of slopes in the upper area of Diavolezza and “Diavolezza Firn” awaits ski holidaymakers for some “devilishly good skiing.” It is the first ski area in Switzerland’s Engadin to open its slopes so early. Celerina/Marguns is scheduled to open its slopes on November 15. Corvatsch and the St. Moritz–Chantarella–Corviglia cable car start operating on November 22. St. Moritz and Piz Nair follow on November 29, 2008.

The 2,978 m-high “Diavolezza” is in Graubünden, in southeastern Switzerland. The 5 km-long Diavolezza mountain/Diavolezza valley run also offers moonlit skiing. The 10 km run over the Morteratsch Glacier and Pers is especially popular. It is considered Switzerland’s longest glacier run. The descent leads to the Morteratsch restaurant, whose terrace offers ski holidaymakers breathtaking panoramic views of the majestic peaks.
