Spain’s Sierra Nevada beckons for a ski holiday

The Sierra Nevada is considered Spain’s best ski holiday destination. It is one of the best ski resorts in Spain, and the beach and sea are close by, too. The sunny Costa del Sol is only about a two-hour drive away.

The Sierra Nevada (snowy mountains) also boasts plenty of sunshine. That’s what makes a ski holiday so enjoyable. The pistes range from beginner runs to challenging ones. “El Rio” runs for 3 kilometres, covering a vertical drop of about 545 metres. Night skiing is also available during peak season.

The Sierra Nevada’s après-ski scene is impressive. Plenty of bars, pubs, restaurants and nightclubs await night owls. The nightlife may even be better than on the coast. It’s easy to meet lots of people here. After all the action and excitement on the pistes, you can really party. Parties for skiers and snowboarders can go on until morning, if you like. That’s why the pistes in the Sierra Nevada are quite empty in the morning: many holidaymakers are still recovering from their long night out.

Andalusia’s Sierra Nevada is one of the most important ski areas in Southern Europe. And where else can you swim in the sea in the morning and go skiing or snowboarding in the afternoon? The Sierra Nevada reaches heights of up to 3,000 m. Its more than 65 km of pistes offer enough snow for skiing for about six months of the year. And, of course, there’s endless sunshine in Europe’s southernmost ski resort. Spanish flair and the Spanish way of life make a ski holiday unforgettable.
