Cattle Drive and Alpenspektakel in Ski Paradise Tyrol

The popular ski holiday region of Tyrol invites you to the Alpenspektakel Festival and the cattle drive. From 19 to 26 September, the mountains are calling you to Tyrol! Musicians, market women, brass bands and yodelers will be there to welcome you. And, of course, so will the brightly decorated cows taking part in the famous cattle drive.

Ski holiday paradise Tyrol offers hearty entertainment, with fun games and a walk through an alpine flower garden. In the last weeks of September, the Alpenrosensaal in Westendorf presents an entertaining show, the Alpenspektakel, from around 8:30 p.m. Folk musicians and dancers perform an enjoyable musical programme in Tyrol's Brixental Valley. After all, there's plenty going on in Tyrol in summer, too.

Once again, many fans are sure to visit the Alpenspektakel in the Kitzbühel Alps. And a schnapps from the pretty market woman is not to be sniffed at, either. Visitors to the farmers' market on the Kitzbüheler Horn can also look forward to market stalls featuring traditional craftspeople and farmers, as well as lively music. Families with children are especially welcome. “A Village Makes Music” and a children's programme packed with games and a children's workshop will be offered on 9 August 2008. Alpinolino also has puzzles for kids and their parents.

The spectacular glow of the Brixental mountains is especially fascinating. Around 45,000 torches create a breathtaking scene.

The cattle drive is another highlight of autumn in Tyrol. At the end of September, cows adorned in traditional colourful decorations return from the alpine pastures to the valley. Tyrolean humour and hospitality, culinary delights and lively music bring the festivities to life.

The annual cattle drive is a sign that summer has said goodbye. It shows that temperatures will soon start to fall again. Then the first snowflakes will fall, and the first ski resorts will begin preparing their slopes and ski lifts for the ski holiday season.
