The breathtaking beauty of the Aosta Valley, on the border with France and Switzerland, is well known. First-class ski slopes await winter sports enthusiasts in this paradise-like landscape. There’s also plenty of great après-ski in mountain huts, nightclubs and restaurants.

The same is true of Italian South Tyrol. Sunny Alpine ski resorts and culinary delights await holidaymakers. They’ll find everything they could wish for, from small, well-maintained slopes to the vast Dolomiti Superski area. The Dolomiti Superski lift network offers skiers and snowboarders 1,220 km of slopes.

The Trentino region is also easy to reach via the Brenner motorway. The ski resorts of Val di Fiemme and Val di Fassa, the famous Sellaronda and the glamorous Madonna di Campiglio are very popular.

Bormio, Cortina d’Ampezzo and Turin are internationally known as Olympic host venues. The ski resorts of Lombardy are particularly sporty in northern Sondrio. Bormio and Livigno have 400 km of slopes available. There are also customs and tax benefits.

Piedmont, on the French border, offers more than 800 km of slopes. Canyoning, hang gliding and heliskiing are all part of the action. The well-known ski resorts of Bardonecchia, Limone Piemonte and Sestrière have suitable slopes for Olympic events and snowboarding competitions.

Veneto, on the Adriatic coast, offers famous, first-class ski slopes in places such as Cortina d’Ampezzo. The world-famous Marmolada peak, with one of Europe’s longest ski runs, is also in the province of Belluno in Veneto. Freeride paradises and pure winter sports action—that’s Veneto.
