Triathlon World Cup in ski mecca Kitzbühel
Tyrolean Kitzbühel, famous as a ski holiday destination, invites you to the Triathlon World Cup. A total of 14 Triathlon World Championships will be held around the world in 2008. Mooloolaba in Australia, Rhodes, Huatulco in Mexico and Madrid are among the prestigious host venues. Kitzbühel will likely be Austria’s only venue for a Triathlon World Cup race to date.
For the second time, Kitzbühel is among the select group of Triathlon World Championship host venues. Kitzbühel’s Triathlon Week takes place from July 15 to 20. Following last year’s successful event, the world’s triathlon elite are sure to return to Kitzbühel.

The announced race distances are 40 km cycling, 10 km running and 1.5 km swimming. The BG Triathlon World Cup takes place on July 20. For the first time, the Corporate Games will include a company world championship. The fittest employees of international companies will compete in the ITU Corporate Triathlon World Championship. Kitzbühel expects several hundred participants for training and race preparation. Seminars on nutrition, mental training and sports medicine are on the program.

The welcome evening and 1st Kitzbühel Triathlon Symposium will kick off on Wednesday, July 16. The Casino Kitzbühel City Triathlon is scheduled for Thursday, July 17. On Friday, July 18, the children’s triathlon “TriKitz” and the “ITU Corporate Triathlon” World Championship are set to follow, with an awards ceremony and dinner in the VIP tent.
Saturday, July 19, will feature the Open Race for amateur triathletes. The VIP Challenge is also scheduled, with many celebrities expected, followed by a gala in the VIP tent. The Kitzbühel BG Triathlon World Cup is planned for Sunday, July 20, followed by the awards ceremony and a closing banquet in the VIP tent.
