Variety in the ski area matters

Ski holidaymakers are not necessarily concerned with how large a ski area is. Variety is often more important when choosing a holiday destination. Wildschönau holds its own with 75 km of pistes and 26 ski lifts. The runs are exceptionally well groomed. There are plenty of sporting activities for all ages at fair prices. Snowboard enthusiasts shouldn’t miss the Schatzberg Funpark in Auffach. Plenty of rails and jumps, as well as a quarterpipe, await snowboarders. The highlight is the 90 m-long halfpipe. Niederau has the Race & Boarder Area for snowboard fans. Beginner and expert riders will find a speed course, boardercross, slalom and arena here. Wildschönau has done a lot for snowboarders.

Wildschönau paragliding school

One of the world’s largest paragliding schools can be found here. The Wildschönau flight school offers a wide range of activities. Cross-country skiers can enjoy 50 km of trails. Horse-drawn sleigh rides are also very popular. Hikers will find 40 km of hiking trails. Night owls can go on torchlight tours or night hikes. And, of course, there’s night skiing and night tobogganing.
