Best Ski Region 2007

Engadin St. Moritz was chosen as the best ski region of the 2006/2007 season. The popular Swiss ski region Engadin St. Moritz has thus successfully defended the title it won the previous ski season. The selection was based on piste preparation, variety of offerings, family-friendliness, snow reliability, the technical facilities of the ski lifts, and overall value for money.

Ski-area atmosphere and snow reliability

In the individual categories, however, Zermatt shared the top spot with Engadin St. Moritz for ski-area atmosphere and snow reliability. Goldried/Matrei proved to be an insider tip, while Kaprun–Zell am See was a special recommendation for snowboarders. The Olympic ski resort of Seefeld was highly praised as a cross-country skiing destination, and the Zillertal Crystal Hut received the title of best ski hut. Mayrhofen scored a confident win in the individual après-ski category.

The exclusive resort of St. Moritz

Since 2003, guests staying at selected hotels in the exclusive ski resort of St. Moritz have been able to enjoy the “Inclusive Summer Offer”—free rides on chairlifts, funiculars and aerial cableways on the local Corviglia mountain, with a minimum stay of two nights.

New for summer 2007: with a minimum stay of two nights, guests can also use all Engadin St. Moritz mountain railways free of charge, including those in Celerina, Corvatsch Furtschellas and Diavolezza, as well as the Muottas Muragl mountain railway, which opened exactly 100 years ago, on 9 August 1907. This offer applies to selected hotels and, newly, to group travelers as well.
