Ski resort in the United States will build the fastest gondola in the world

Vail, the US ski resort with a half century history, reported about construction of a new super-modern gondola timed to the 50th anniversary of the resort, which will be celebrated here in the next 2012-2013 ski season.

The lift will be created by a well-known US company Leitner-Poma and is considered to be the fastest lift of its kind in the world. Each of the cabins will be designed for 10 people. In addition to the heated seats, which have already become a common feature of most modern gondola lifts, the new super giant in Vail will offer its passengers Wi-Fi internet access.

However, not everyone will be able to fully use the Internet in the future gondolas, as it is assumed that the way to the top will be only 7.5 minutes.

Modern lift in Vail will replace the outdated model Vista Bahn Express, which previously served the same area. Leitner-Poma will be almost by 40% more spacious and faster. So, the way on Vista Bahn Express took more than 9 minutes.

The Vail resort owners hope that the new lift will be a good advertisement for the upcoming season and will help to attract new fans to the resort.

It is expected that construction of the new lift will begin immediately after the end of the current ski season in April 2012. The new facility should be built just in time for the celebration of the Vail fiftieth anniversary, which is scheduled for November 16, 2012.

It should be noted that the lift will be partially assembled in the US and partly in Europe. In particular, manufacturers of the Old World will be responsible for creating cabins for the gondola.
