Lower Austria introduces Winter Card

In Austrian federal state of Lower Austria authorities plan to improve the image of the region and make it more appealing to the winter holidays fans by traditional measures. Lower Austria is preparing to present the Winter Card.

Lower Austria is not as popular as such successful Tyrol and Salzburg regions. Introduction of the Winter Card will allow winter ski resorts in Lower Austria to compete with its neighbors at a new qualitative level.

According to the creators, Winter Card is a multiple ticket, which will allow its owners to use slopes and lifts of seven ski areas located in the territory of the federal land.

Winter Card will be valid for a period from 3 to 5 days. The card will allow to use ski tracks both adults and children. In addition to the new card authorities in Lower Austria intend to promote a special program designed primary for the elementary school children. As part of the "Elementary Snow School" program children will get acquainted with winter skiing at the resorts in Lower Austria.

At the initial stage creators of the project plan to attract to the slopes of the local ski resorts up to 13 000 children, who will be offered special training courses.

As for the Winter Card, it will cover in total 113 km of tracks and 42 lifts, located in the region. The card will also provide access to 20 ski schools. The cost of the adult Winter Card for three days will be 94 Euros and 138 Euros for five days. The card is valid throughout the winter season. Its significant advantage is absence of personal identification code. The card can change the owner without losing any bonuses. When you purchase 10 cards and more the customers will receive a discount of 5%.

Among the ski resorts, which will take part in the promotion, are Hohkar, Lackenhof am Ötscher, Annaberg and others.

The project site is www.wintercard.at.
