The second highest mountain in Greece is Mount Olympus. It is also a very popular destination for winter recreation. This place is preferred by snowboarders. They like to perfect technique here and enjoy skating on the deep snow-covered desert slopes. The Olympus also has tracks suitable for skiing. Another advantage is the lack of queues at the lifts and gondolas, which also makes the rest at the resort very pleasant. Again, there are ski schools that offer training courses for skiers of all ages. Besides, there are often held small tournaments, participation in which is open to all comers.
The Greeks themselves are very fond of skiing and during the holidays often go to the Mount Parnassus and the Olympus. Breathtaking views of the sea turn the usual downhill into an unforgettable event. And if you try to ski on these peaks in August or September, you can even get a tan in the sun.
