Coming winter 2010/2011 season promises to be rich in sporting events of world level. Which ski resorts of Europe and other world will be honored to host the World Cup in winter sports according to FIS? And most importantly - where the Alpine Skiing World Championships will take place in 2011?

On the official website of the International Ski Federation were announced the date and venue of the key sporting events of this winter. Among the regions that will host the World Championships are the best ski resorts in Germany, Spain, USA and Norway.

The World Championships season will be opened at the ski resort of Spain La Molina. One of the most popular Spanish resorts in the Pyrenees will host the Snowboard World Cup from 14 to 23 January 2011. It is worth noting that La Molina will share the honor of being the world capital of snowboarding with the famous city of Barcelona. The solemn opening of the championship will be held in Barcelona.

Next World Championship is to be held in the New World. The honor to host the Freestyle Skiing World Cup this season was given to U.S. Deer Valley and Park City Mountain Resort in Utah. Top freestylers of the world will compete on tracks of Deer Valley from 2 to 5 February 2011. Deer Valley Resort - this ski resort is known for the Winter Olympics 2002 in Salt Lake City. Then on tracks of Deer Valley were held the Olympic mogul competitions. As for the Park City Mountain, the local half-pipe Eagle Superpipe is known as one of the largest in the United States.

One of the highlights of this sporting season promises to be a Downhill World Cup, which will be held at the main ski resort of Germany - Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The resort will host the world mountain-skiing championship after more than 30-year brake. The last time skiers experienced the slopes of the Bavarian Alps in 1978. World Cup in Alpine Skiing in Garmisch-Partenkirchen will be held from 7 to 20 February 2010.

The season of World Championships will be closed by FIS Skiing World Cup. From 22 February to 6 March it will be hosted by the citadel of winter sports - Norway, or rather a suburb of Oslo - Holmenkollen. For all media representatives accredited to the championship, the organizers guarantee free internet access.
