A big open air event - The Battery Freeskiing festival – will take place during Easter weekend at Levi, one of the most northerly located ski resorts, which is situated in Laplandia, Finland. The visitors will be able to see professional being launched over the Battery Catapult jump into the air at speed exceeding seventy kilometers per hour.
This event is a part of Levi’s tight springtime schedule where the majority of visitors come at April when the temperatures there get more bearable and the daylight hours longer (Arctic Circle location has its disadvantages). Levi is the biggest ski area in Finland, although it is not so immense like some ski regions in Alps. There are enough ski lifts, which means that queues are almost non-existent. There are lots of classy hotels, shops and restaurants.
Levi provides its guests not only possibility do ride down the slopes but also offers a wide range of various outdoor activities like reindeer safaris, dog sledding, horse riding, ice fishing and snowmobiling. Trips to 'Santa's Secret Home' to the famous Ice hotel located over the nearby border in Sweden are also available. And cross-country skiing in Levi is no less popular than downhill rides, like it is as almost anywhere in Scandinavia.
