10th Anniversary of the Chamonix Freeride Days

Chamonix Freeride Days
Chamonix Freeride Days

On Sunday May 4th, 2008 by the end of this season the Chamonix Freeride Days will be held at Grands Montets. The event will take place for the tenth time this year. So all the amateurs of winter sports are welcome.

The organizers of Freeride Days are going to give an answer to the burning question who have better skiing skills – downhill skiers of freeriders. It is well-known, that that the first ones muster better technique but are not accustomed so well to speed down ungroomed slopes.

The main principle of the competition is quite simple. The teams consisting of three either skiers or snowboarders will fight a duel among each other in a giant slalom relay. The first team arriving to the finish goes into the next round.

The list of competitors include this year such celebrities as Kjetil Andre Aamodt (multi-medal alpine skier), Guerlain Chicherit (fourfold freeride champion of the world), Jean-Pierre Vidal (Olympic slalom champion), also Aurélien Ducroz, the Diet brothers, Steve Missillier, Yannick Bertrand and many others.

Within the framework of the Chamonix Freeride Days in partnership with Dynastar will also occur a photo exhibition of the best photo snaps of this season, either professional or amateur. The only requirement is that the image must depict recognizable view of Chamonix. The best 10 pictures will be displayed in the Dynastar test centre at Grands Montets during the event.
