iceMusikFestival adds to a skiing holiday in South Tyrol
At around 3,200 metres, the Schnalstal Glacier is one of the highest ski areas in South Tyrol and Italy. The Schnalstal Valley at the foot of the glacier stretches northwest from Merano to the tripoint between Italy, Austria and Switzerland, one of the most beautiful areas for a skiing holiday in Italy.

A very special event in the Schnalstal Valley is the iceMusikFestival, which this year will create a unique setting in South Tyrol from 26 February to 7 March 2010 and is sure to captivate guests on a skiing holiday in Mals in the Vinschgau and the surrounding area.

Jazz on Ice
An igloo made entirely of ice provides the setting for the iceMusikFestival, where Norwegian jazz and performance artist Terje Isungset will entertain the audience in his own unique way. With a range of musical instruments also made of ice, Terje Isungset and his ensemble will provide outstanding musical entertainment—something rarely experienced outside the Schnalstal Valley in South Tyrol. In addition, several guided tours of the igloo will be offered during the iceMusikFestival, giving visitors the chance to get a close-up look at this work of art made of ice.
Skiing holiday in South Tyrol
Even after the iceMusikFestival, the igloo will remain in the Schnalstal Valley for its guests enjoying a skiing holiday in South Tyrol until the end of April. Every Sunday, the ice igloo on the Schnalstal Glacier hosts an après-ski party that is likely to be unique in the entire Alps. Visitors can get there either on skis via the Grawand glacier cable car or on foot via the chairlift. The journey takes between 15 and 30 minutes, depending on the location of their holiday apartment in South Tyrol.  Â
