Free ski and snowboard transport on Air Berlin flights
While summer is drawing to a close, plans for next winter’s ski holidays are already well underway in many places. Air Berlin and its Austrian partner NIKI’s ski holiday special could hardly come at a better time. In winter 2010/11, both Air Berlin and NIKI offer free transport of ski and snowboard equipment on all flights to ski resorts, for example in the Alps or Pyrenees.

Whether skis, a snowboard or poles, winter sports equipment is included as free baggage on Air Berlin and NIKI’s winter flight schedule. The other baggage rules for Air Berlin and NIKI flights are unaffected by this ski holiday special; 20 kilograms of checked baggage and six kilograms of hand baggage continue to be included free of charge.

Winter special to the Alps
Air Berlin and NIKI expect the winter special to boost demand, particularly in the Alps and especially in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The only requirement for this free additional service for winter sports enthusiasts and ski holidaymakers is to book the relevant flight or register the baggage at least 48 hours in advance, meaning a last-minute ski holiday is still possible with Air Berlin and NIKI.
