SnowSTART on the Zugspitze
On December 1 and 2, the time has come. Winter sports enthusiasts will be drawn to Germany’s highest peak. The theme of the new season, which runs until early May, is sport and relaxation. Enjoy the action in the Easy Fun Park and the downhill runs that let you burn off some energy. You can practice last season’s tricks in the Fun Park again. An exciting program is in store. You can also try out new snowboards and skis. Or would you rather relax in a breathtaking winter landscape? Perhaps on a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride through the sparkling snow. Everyone is sure to find their favorite spot on the Zugspitze.
The ski lifts actually start running earlier if there’s enough snow. Winter sports on the Zugspitze have usually begun while grass is still growing elsewhere. Soon you can start your ski holiday in what is probably Germany’s most popular ski resort.
A stop at the new Gletschergarten restaurant is well worth it for a bite to eat. Gourmet chef Mohammed Akram conjures up Euro-Asian delicacies for small and hearty appetites alike. The breathtaking view from the glass pavilion makes the culinary delights all the more enjoyable.
A trip all the way to the summit is an absolute must. Up there, above the clouds, the sun’s rays seem especially magical.
