Austrian ski resort: language lessons on the lift

(Austria Ski Tipps)

Nassfeld ski resort is one of the largest winter recreation areas in Carinthia, which offers a special service on its slopes. To be more precise - not on the slopes, but on the lift.

Nassfeld ski slopes can be reached in several ways today. One of them is Millenium-Express gondola with the route length of 2 kilometers. From now on tourists, who will use Millenium-Express, are able not only to look at the picturesque surroundings, but also immerse into the region culture. In Nassfeld all passengers of gondolas are offered special language courses, which are considered to be the "fastest language courses in the Alps".

During the ascent, which takes 17 minutes, participants of the language courses will be able to use a special audio and learn some words from the Carinthian dialect, which is spread in local lands. Courses are offered for those, who have already learned German or English.
Significant part of words that can be learned by the tourists is connected with Carinthian ski resorts and cuisine. For example Jagatee - hot tea drink with rum or Kasnudeln - Carinthian dumplings with cottage cheese and mint.

All those, who decided to use the fastest language courses in the Alps, will be given a special diploma after the ascent.

It is worth noting that Nassfeld ski resort attracts tourists not only by non-standard version of studying local dialects. Among the resort offers is rental of ski equipment for children (from 1 euro per day), as well as free Wi-Fi internet in the recreation areas of the local snow parks.

Today Nassfeld is united in a single ski area with another resort in Austria - Hermagor. Nassfeld-Hermagor area is considered to be the most southern ski resort of the country located near the border with Italy. In total, guests of Nassfeld are offered 110 km of tracks.
