Culture
In the hamlet of Vaas, there is a former inn built for Antoine Gilloz in 1565. Its façades are painted with hunting and agricultural scenes and bear an inscription in the French dialect.
Flanthey and its surroundings include an extensive area of vineyards, irrigated mainly by two old bisses. These are traditional irrigation channels.
Nature
The Bisse Sillonin runs from the Lienne Gorge above Saint-Léonard through Chelin to below the church of Flanthey. The footpath beside or along the bisse from Flanthey to above Saint-Léonard is described as easy and safe.
The section of the Bisse Sillonin in the Lienne Valley is recommended only for people who are comfortable at altitude. The Grand Bisse de Lens is approximately 200 metres higher and runs from the hinterland of Icogne around Châtelard, above St-Léonard, Chelin and Flanthey, to Chermignon.
