History and Culture
Ennetmoos was a battlefield in 1798. The monument at Allweg commemorates the fighters and can be visited. A local dragon legend is associated with Drachenried; guided tours are offered through the legendary Drachenried and historic Allweg.
The historic religious buildings in Ennetmoos include the chapels of St. Jakob, St. Leonhard and St. Magnus. The churches were rebuilt in the early 19th century after their destruction in 1798.
Trails and Experiences
The Chärwaldräuber adventure trail presents local history and legends at twelve stations. These include Lake Gerzensee, the Witches’ Stone and a picnic area.
Mueterschwandenberg above St. Jakob can be reached on foot or by bicycle and features a viewpoint and a modern fire pit. The visitor area at Mueterschwandenberg also includes two small campsites.
