Nature and Trails
The Emme flows through Schangnau and leaves the village through the Räbloch Gorge. Moraines and erratic boulders are visible evidence of the former Emme Glacier. Locally, the Emme is used for swimming, fishing and canoeing.

Since the 19th century, Mühle Schangnau has been used as a sawmill and grain mill. Today, it houses a cultural venue with an event hall and workshops.
Alte Mühlebrücke is a covered wooden bridge over the Beutlerschwandgraben river in Schangnau. Schangnau also includes Mühlebrücke, a covered wooden bridge over the Emme.
