Getting there
From Bern, the Regio-Express reaches Oey-Diemtigen railway station. From there, PostBus services continue to starting points for hikes. The village of Diemtigen can be reached by PostBus from Oey-Diemtigen railway station to the Diemtigen, Dorf stop.
Hiking trails
The Tschuggen Alpine Hiking Trail is a 10-kilometre circular route in the front Diemtigtal. It starts at Oey-Diemtigen railway station, reaches Diemtigen, and then climbs towards the Tschuggen viewpoint.
Building culture
The preserved houses in Diemtigen reflect 300 years of carpentry craftsmanship. The Diemtigtal features a traditional dispersed settlement structure as well as a carefully maintained and vibrant building culture. Diemtigen received the Henri-Louis-Wakker Prize in 1986 for this building culture.
Alpine farming and products
In summer, various alpine farms in the Diemtigtal offer visits to cheese-making facilities and brunches, where visitors can see how Diemtigtal alpine cheese is made. Products available from the Diemtigtal include Seeberg alpine cheese, Kiley goat cheese, Diemtigtal mountain milk, and Diemtigtal mountain cheese.
