The New Oberdiessbach Castle was built between 1666 and 1668 and is considered the first purely French-influenced country estate. It is also considered the first castle in Switzerland to have been deliberately integrated into the landscape as an open country estate. Culture and history
The church in Oberdiessbach was rebuilt in 1498. The Geissbühler House was built around 1771 and has preserved a considerable part of its original post-and-beam construction. In the cantonal inventory of historic buildings, it is listed as a protected K object of the highest level of protection.
The Oberdiessbach Cultural Association organizes events at BuumeHus. Exhibitions based on local history are also held there.
Oberdiessbach Castle can only be visited as part of a guided tour. Tours are offered from mid-April to the end of October by prior arrangement.

The local history route includes Haus Läderach, which is designated as the oldest residential building and dated to 1557, as well as the Old Castle as a cultural and historical landmark. It also includes the ruins of Diessenberg Castle in Aeschlen.

The nature route includes protected areas along the Kiese between Freimettigen and Oberdiessbach. Its stops include important amphibian habitats and a path along the castle avenue.
