Geographical Location
Emmental is a hilly landscape in the Bernese Mittelland of the canton of Bern and is associated with the catchment areas of the Emme and Ilfis rivers. For a local addition, you can also find Affoltern Im Emmental.

The region is characterised by gently rolling hills and valleys, charming villages, green meadows and fields, as well as traditional Emmental farmhouses, which are also considered a distinctive cultural and architectural feature of the region.
Emmental has hiking trails through its hilly landscape; easy and moderate hikes make up a large part of the route offering. In the nearby area, Eggiwil provides access to hikes towards Rämisgummenhoger and Alp Rämisgummen. Wild crocus meadows can be found there around mid-April.
