Wellness and history
The thermal spring was rediscovered in 1691 on the right bank of the Aare near Birrenlauf. A complex with bathing buildings subsequently developed there. The spa in Schinznach was also the founding place of the Helvetic Society in 1761.
Schinznach-Bad’s spa heritage also includes historic bathing architecture from the Baroque and Neoclassical periods.
