Geographical location

The village center of Stetten lies on a gently sloping plain about half a kilometer northeast of the Reuss. At Klosterfeld, the village stream flows into the river.

History and culture

The documented settlement history of Stetten dates from the Neolithic and La Tène periods through the Roman era. The place was first mentioned in 998 as «(ze) stetin». Stetten remained agriculturally oriented well into the 20th century.
