Visegrád is located on the opposite bank of the Danube, approximately one kilometer from Nagymaros. There is a ferry connection between Visegrád and Nagymaros.

The highest point in the Nagymaros municipal area is Hegyes-tető, which is 482 meters high. Nagy-Sas-hegy, Baráthalom, and Sólyom-sziget are located nearby. Hajlékos Bérc lies in the area surrounding Nagymaros.
