The town’s attractions include the Uhrenhof, the coconut weaving mill, the Mill Trail, the Sculpture Park and the Steam Railway Educational Trail. The Olbersdorf Uhrenhof preserves clocks from decommissioned factories. The exhibition covers the complete production of electric clocks from the former GDR.
At the Hilger coconut weaving mill, durable products made from coconut, sisal and hemp are created in a demonstration workshop. Along the Goldbach stream, the Olbersdorf Mill Trail marks at least 18 documented former waterwheel sites with information boards. The Sculpture Park displays works made of stone, wood and clay by artists from the surrounding area and neighbouring countries.
Nature
Lake Olbersdorf is a post-mining landscape created from a former open-cast lignite mine. Its shore features a beach and an adjacent campsite, which were established after the 1999 State Horticultural Show. A five-kilometre shorter route around Lake Olbersdorf is accessible to wheelchair users.

Transport
The Steam Railway Educational Trail explains the history of the Zittau narrow-gauge railway with information boards and pictures. It extends from Zittau to the spa towns of Jonsdorf and Oybin.
The 750 mm-gauge Zittau narrow-gauge railway runs through Olbersdorf towards the Zittau Mountains. At Bertsdorf station, the railway branches off towards Oybin and Jonsdorf; visitors can watch two steam locomotives depart simultaneously there.
