Hohenleimbach lies on the Rhein-Rureifel-Weg, a 127.5-kilometer long-distance hiking trail. The route runs from Brohl on the Rhine via Maria Laach, Lake Laach, the heights of Hohenleimbach and the Hohe Acht, continuing to Monschau.

Cycling paths run through Hohenleimbach and Lederbach. Hohenleimbach is considered the endpoint of an approximately 32-kilometer cycling route from Burgbrohl. The routes are signposted with the designation Brohltal.

Schöneberg and Saberg are located in the immediate vicinity of Hohenleimbach. The surrounding area also includes the Gänsehalsturm, Bürresheim Castle, Löwenburg, Hohe Warte, Perlerkopf and Maria Laach Abbey.
