Mornshausen has a distinct mining heritage. Copper, lead, and silver were mined at the Amalie mine near Amelose until the early 20th century. Diabase quarrying remained an important source of employment until the middle of the 20th century. Opposite the Landhaus Werner, a Steeklopper monument commemorates this industrial past.

The Original Hinkelbächer Musikanten are also part of the village’s cultural life. The brass band performs at events in the surrounding region.

When planning your personal trip to Mornshausen, you may wish to book a hotel.
