A private car is the main means of transport for getting there; public transport to the park is not available, although a daily service reaches Crni Lug.
Veliki Tomac, Javorov Vrh and Tisovac are located in the immediate vicinity of Crni Lug. Južni Mali Risnjak is located in the surrounding area.
In the park, the Leska educational trail is a circular route approximately 4.2 kilometres long at an altitude of around 700 metres above sea level. Information boards in Croatian and English provide information about the park and Gorski kotar.
Routes
A 40-kilometre MTB route leads from Crni Lug via Bijela Vodica, Željezna vrata, Krašićevica and Malo Selo back to Crni Lug. It is rated 3 out of 5 for both physical and technical difficulty.
Culture and History
The wider regional surroundings of Crni Lug are home to Trsatska Gradina, Maltempo Fortress, Fulfinum Mirine and Fulfinum Forum.
