Pertisau is located on the southwestern shore of Lake Achensee. When choosing accommodation for a ski holiday, it is therefore useful to consider the different experiences that can be accessed from the village: groomed ski slopes and winter hiking, trails by the lake, family-oriented activities, culture and excursions. The location of the Karwendel cable car provides additional orientation. The specific distance between accommodation and any individual destination remains open. - Skiing and winter hiking are offered on groomed ski slopes on Zwölferkopf. - The valley station of the Karwendel cable car is located in Pertisau. - The Alpentiere circular hiking trail has been developed to be suitable for prams. - The Pertisau Discovery Trail is a family-oriented experience. - The Tiroler Steinöl Vitalberg visitor centre offers special guided tours for children aged four to twelve.

Winter orientation and trails around Lake Achensee

The documented activities in Pertisau combine winter sports with further options, without this implying anything about snow reliability or the current opening of individual facilities. Groomed ski slopes describe the type of activity available on Zwölferkopf; they do not replace up-to-date information on conditions. The valley station of the Karwendel cable car locates access to the cable car in the village. The Pertisau–Gaisalm–Achenkirch hike also requires precise classification. It initially follows a short lakeside path and then a trail cut into the rock along the western shore of Lake Achensee towards Gaisalm. In places, there are very narrow and highly exposed sections; sure-footedness and a head for heights are required. The route therefore cannot simply be equated with the Alpentiere circular hiking trail, which has been developed to be suitable for prams.

Lake, cable car and excursion experiences

The ride on the Karwendel cable car offers views across the entire eight-kilometre-long Lake Achensee. Excursion trips operated by the Achensee shipping company offer views of the Karwendel and Rofan mountain ranges. In summer, the Achensee shipping company operates its trips in conjunction with the Achensee Railway, allowing short transfer times. This connection explicitly describes summer operations and is not to be understood as a general timetable for every travel period. For activities on the water, pedal boats, electric boats, rowing boats, Canadian canoes and SUPs are available at the boathouse. Pertisau thus supplements its winter orientation with documented excursion and leisure activities on the lake. Which option is suitable for your stay depends on the travel period and your planned activity; this does not imply a blanket year-round statement.

Culture, family activities and golf

The Tiroler Steinöl Vitalberg Museum displays original tools. The visitor centre also offers special guided tours for children aged four to twelve. The steam-powered ship “St. Josef” has a historical connection: it was transported to Pertisau and assembled there. The Fürstenhaus in Pertisau is described as the former hunting lodge of Emperor Maximilian I. More than 500 years ago, Emperor Maximilian I regularly travelled to his hunting lodge in Pertisau. This historical classification should be retained as such and not equated with a present-day use or event offering. Pertisau is also home to Golfclub Achensee, which is described as the oldest golf club in Tyrol. The 18-hole course stretches from Pertisau village centre to the foothills of the Karwendel valleys. If, in addition to winter and lake activities, you would also like to compare the character of the villages, you can likewise use [Hippach-Schwendberg](Hippach-Schwendberg), [Fügen](Fügen), [Gerlosberg](Gerlosberg), [Gattererberg](Gattererberg), [Achenkirch](Achenkirch), [Ramsau Im Zillertal](Ramsau Im Zillertal), [Steinberg Am Rofan](Steinberg Am Rofan) and [Wiesing](Wiesing) for this purpose.
