Porcia Castle and the History of the Town
On two floors of Porcia Castle, the Museum of Folk Culture offers 1,001 ways to discover the cultural history of Upper Carinthia.
The Museum of Folk Culture in Porcia Castle features the walk-through Carinthia panorama “i steh´ drauf!” as a 200-square-metre zoom-in map of Carinthia. The museum’s smartphone audio guide is available in German, English, Italian and Slovenian.

Founded in 2009, the “Porcia Klassik” cultural project brings the music hall or ancestral hall in Porcia Castle to life with music ranging from the Baroque period to the present day.
The Porcia Comedy Festival was founded in 1961. Construction of KhevenhĂĽller Palace as a Renaissance town palace began in the 1530s.
The “Spittl” was built in the first half of the 16th century and repeatedly adapted; it is a Renaissance building with a two-storey arcaded courtyard and a Neoclassical façade.
The gallery in Porcia Castle presents contemporary visual art in the 500-year-old vaulted colonnade of the Salamanca Cellar, offering a representative cross-section there.
For several years, the town municipality has made the Parkschlössl available during the summer months as an exhibition space for artists and self-taught artists.
The Drau, Lake Millstatt and Trails
The Drau Cycle Path follows the Drau to Spittal an der Drau.
Lake Millstatt is located in the immediate vicinity of Spittal an der Drau and is separated from it only by a small hill.
The approximately twelve-metre-high Auenturm tower offers a view over the river landscape of the Drau and its valuable riparian areas in the Spittal Plain.
Goldeck and Various Activities
The five-summit tour on Goldeck leads over Goldeck, Martennock, Staff, Eckwand and Latschur.
Goldeck Kinderland has a summer tubing track. In tubing, you ride on a tyre along a designated track.
The Goldeck cable car ascends from the valley at 547 metres to the Goldeck excursion and hiking area at 1,780 metres.
Weekly Market
A weekly market takes place on Rathausplatz on Thursdays, where visitors can sample the offerings.

The drautal perle is a twelve-minute walk from Spittal–Millstättersee railway station. Its wellness area features a whirlpool, a log sauna, a steam-and-brine sauna, an herbal sauna, a Finnish sauna and an infrared cabin.
ÖBB InterCity trains and S-Bahn services stop frequently at Spittal an der Drau/Millstätter See railway station.
