Perisher Valley is one of the distinct areas of Perisher Ski Resort. This lets you plan the ski options, winter alternatives and travel arrangements separately in your day’s itinerary.

Perisher Valley within the resort

Perisher is the largest alpine resort in the Southern Hemisphere. Perisher Ski Resort comprises four distinct areas and has more than 100 groomed runs, 45 lifts and four snow parks. These figures refer to the resort as a whole, not Perisher Valley alone. Comparisons, operating scope and figures may change, so check the latest resort information for your travel dates. The figures help put the size of the offering into perspective, but do not replace planning based on conditions on the day.

Perisher has a dedicated area for tobogganing and playing in the snow, suitable for children and families. Its operation depends on daily snow and weather conditions. Cross-country skiing is another winter option: the trails of the Perisher Valley Range pass through scenic landscapes and past eerie-looking snow gums. This means there are other activities to choose from alongside downhill skiing, each with its own conditions.

Walking and snowshoeing routes

The Snowies Alpine Walk connects the alpine areas of Guthega, Perisher Valley and Charlotte Pass; conditions are seasonal. Another named trail, the Charlotte Pass Village to Perisher Valley walk, connects Charlotte Pass Village and Perisher Valley. It passes through alpine valleys and the rugged landscapes of Kosciuszko National Park. Along the way, there are views of high plains, snow-covered mountain ranges and clear-flowing rivers. Winter snow conditions can affect the route.

The short, family-friendly Porcupine walk is near Perisher in Kosciuszko National Park. The Rock Creek snowshoe track starts in Perisher Village and passes through a treeless frost hollow along Rock Creek. It then loops through an open snow gum forest. Snow conditions and seasonal access for this track may change. The different names and starting points help distinguish the routes when planning.

Travel and seasonal conditions

The Skitube provides a safe and easy ten-minute connection from Bullocks Flat Skitube Terminal to Perisher Valley. Operating hours and fares may change; check both for your travel day. From Jindabyne, you can reach Perisher via Kosciuszko Road. Park entry fees apply. Road conditions and closures may change, so it is worth checking the latest information before setting off.

The Perisher Valley to Bullocks Flat walk is closed in winter, between June and October, because it crosses cross-country ski trails. Do not plan to use this route as a walking connection during this period. Also take the respective starting points and seasonal conditions into account.
