Dolní Morava

Dolní Morava is a mountain resort below Králický Sněžník in the Czech border mountains. Its winter offer combines downhill pistes with beginner areas and snow activities, so a useful plan starts by matching the day to your group rather than assuming that every facility operates together. The resort’s general overview advertises more than 10 km of snowmaking-equipped pistes and a longest descent of about 3.7 km. These are descriptions of the resort’s offer, not a promise about the runs open on a particular date; check the live status before travelling.

Understand the layout before you book

The operator lists two four-seat chairlifts, Sněžník and U Slona, two T-bar lifts, Ondráš and Kamila, and a Poma lift at Slamník. Its trail list includes several named routes, a children’s Mammoth Ski Park and a beginner area. Use the current winter map to understand how the sectors connect and where your preferred starting point lies. Then confirm which lifts, pistes and services are actually operating. A line shown on a map can be closed, and a facility listed on a general resort page may have seasonal hours.

For a family, first check the location and opening arrangements of the learning areas, the lesson meeting point and the simplest return route. Ask whether a child’s ticket, lesson and equipment are sold separately, and whether the ski school has a suitable language and age group. Confident skiers can compare piste length and difficulty with their own ability, but should avoid planning a circuit that depends on an unconfirmed lift connection. Agree on a meeting place and a check-in time, particularly when the group splits between lessons and longer runs.

Tickets, night skiing and snow activities

Compare ticket dates, age categories, online purchase terms and which lifts or activities are included before paying. Do not infer that all sectors share one pass or that a listed night-skiing session runs every evening. The operator describes evening skiing on Kamila on selected days, as well as a snow fun trail, snow-cross course and snowpark in the U Slona area. Opening, lighting and course setup depend on the season and current conditions, so check the date-specific notices rather than relying on a general description.

For rental, verify reservation rules, fitting, collection and return times, deposits and what happens if weather or operations change. A helmet, properly fitted boots, layers, water and spare gloves make the day easier. Beginners should allow time for equipment adjustment and a lesson; experienced riders may want to ask about servicing or storage. Check the operator’s official slopes and lifts information for the current map and facilities, then verify the live operating report close to departure.

Getting around the resort and choosing accommodation

Dolní Morava is spread along a mountain valley, so compare your accommodation address with the lift or activity you actually plan to use. Ask about winter access, parking, equipment storage, drying space, breakfast times and the route from the car park to the base. If several people have different plans, decide whether they can meet again without returning by the same lift. Build a margin into morning transfers: snow, road treatment, traffic and carrying equipment can make a short map distance take longer.

The resort published a 2025–26 ski-bus timetable with daily service from 26 December 2025 to 8 March 2026 and weekend service thereafter until that season ended. That is a historical timetable, not evidence that the same dates or routes will apply next winter. Recheck the current bus, municipal transport, parking and fares before choosing lodging or leaving the car behind. If arriving by public transport, plan the complete onward connection and the last return service as well as the train or coach to the area.

Make the trip work in changing conditions

Snowfall, wind, visibility, maintenance and road conditions can alter the day. Check the forecast and resort notices twice—when planning and again shortly before setting out. Save the accommodation address, ticket details and a group meeting point offline. If visibility worsens or a lift stops, shorten the route or switch to an activity that is genuinely available; do not treat yesterday’s snow report as a guarantee. For cross-country skiing, check grooming and trail access separately from the downhill lift report.

Our cross-country skiing guide and winter sports overview help compare alternatives for a mixed-weather day. For the wider setting, read the Jeseníky and Králický Sněžník regional guide and our Czech ski-area overview. If you are building a longer trip, compare Dolní Morava with the separate Plešivec area, Klíny, Lipno, Krkonoše and the Moravian-Silesian Beskids. They are distinct destinations, not adjoining sectors; allow for substantial travel time and consider an overnight stop.

Before you set off

Confirm the date-specific lift and piste status, ticket terms, ski-school or rental booking, road access, parking and transport timetable. Ask your host what happens if snow or access changes your arrival. With those details checked, you can choose a realistic plan—beginner practice, a longer descent, evening skiing if scheduled, or a different winter activity—without mistaking an advertised facility for a guaranteed operating service.
