Swiss ski area Fideriser Heuberge changes hands
The Fideriser Heuberge in the canton of Graubünden is a relatively small ski area in the Alps of Switzerland. Nevertheless—or perhaps precisely because of this—the Fideriser Heuberge has been regarded for many years as a real insider tip for a ski holiday in Switzerland. Its snow-sure location at an altitude of over 2,000 meters guarantees excellent slope conditions in winter, while the unspoiled natural surroundings invite visitors to enjoy extensive cycling and hiking tours in the Alps in summer. After recent rumors that the popular ski area in Graubünden might soon close, the future of the Fideriser Heuberge as a ski resort in Switzerland now appears to be firmly secured.

The Fideriser Heuberge ski area has been run by the Steiner family since the 1940s. Jörg Steiner, current managing director of Arflina AG, said several months ago that he no longer wished to continue running the successful family business, inadvertently fueling rumors that skiing at the Fideriser Heuberge might come to an end. Steiner has now not only secured a financially sound regional entrepreneur, Walter Vetsch, as the new majority shareholder of Arflina AG, but also a new owner who enjoys great respect in the canton of Graubünden as a regional politician. The two parties have agreed to keep the exact details of the sale confidential. However, according to Jörg Steiner, the purchase price for the Fideriser Heuberge ski area was in the single-digit millions of Swiss francs.
The heart of the Fideriser Heuberge is its two Swiss mountain huts, which together provide more than 300 beds for a ski holiday in Graubünden. The Fideriser Heuberge offer an exceptional option for a winter family holiday in the Swiss Alps: a 12-kilometer toboggan run from Berghaus Arflina (2,000 m) down to the valley station (approx. 1,000 m), making it one of the longest toboggan runs in Graubünden.
