Interski 2011 in St. Anton
The industry and winter sports enthusiasts are already looking forward to Interski, the most important trade fair for winter sports. Held every four years at changing locations, the fair is considered a leading indicator of trends and developments in winter sports.
Exactly six decades after Interski was first held here, the latest edition of the international winter sports trade fair will take place from 15 to 22 January 2011 in St. Anton am Arlberg. St. Anton am Arlberg is one of the most popular ski resorts in the Austrian Alps and is an ideal venue for Interski 2011. It has the necessary infrastructure (e.g. numerous hotels and exhibition spaces) to host a major event like Interski 2011 and ensure that it runs smoothly. The necessary specialist staff are also available locally.
After Korea hosted Interski in 2007, it is now St. Anton am Arlberg’s turn. Around 1,000 to 1,500 visitors from some 36 countries are expected at Interski 2011. In addition to the national associations of the participating countries, winter sports organisations such as ISIA (the International Ski Instructors Association), IVSI (the International Association of Snowboard Instructors) and IVSS (the International Association for Snow Sports at Schools and Universities) will also be represented at the 2011 trade fair in St. Anton am Arlberg. Hotels from ski regions around the world will showcase themselves, new trends in winter sports fashion will be on display, and the latest technical developments in winter sports will be presented at Interski 2011. It remains to be seen what innovations and trends await winter sports enthusiasts next season.
