Ski Holidays with Pets
Ski holidays with pets are becoming increasingly common. This is clear from a look at the offers available at individual ski resorts this year. Until now, pet owners always had to ask themselves, when planning a ski holiday: where will my pet stay? From Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Lenggries to ski resorts in Austria and Switzerland, there are now more options for taking your dog, cat or parrot along on holiday.
Ski resorts in 2010: not just child-friendly, but pet-friendly too
As the ADAC found in its “SkiGuide”, operators of hotels, holiday apartments and holiday homes in ski resorts are increasingly catering to holidaymakers’ needs, especially when it comes to being family-friendly. But pets are also more and more welcome and can be taken along on holiday. Owners naturally have a duty of care: you can certainly take a dog on a ski holiday without worry, while with cats, for example, it depends very much on their temperament. Cats are generally accustomed to familiar routines and surroundings, though some are adventurous and enjoy an outing such as a ski holiday. Ultimately, the decision is up to the owner. At least there are more alternatives to be found in the most important ski resorts in the Alps, as well as in other regions, for anyone who does not want to leave a beloved pet behind while on a ski holiday. In a few places, there are even services offering pet care while you are out skiing. These are most readily and commonly available for dogs.
