Adelboden ski area with exciting new features this winter

The Adelboden ski area in the canton of Bern, in southeastern Switzerland, is already stepping up its advertising campaign a good five weeks before the start of the winter season. Indeed, this small but no less attractive ski area in the Alps is introducing a number of new features in many areas this winter. Examples include improved safety on the slopes and trails around Adelboden, free skiing for children under six, and the tropical greenhouse in neighboring Frutigen.

Safety in the Adelboden ski area

As in previous years, no expense is being spared when it comes to safety in the Adelboden ski area. To make the slopes and trails even safer from this winter onward, Adelboden has invested in several new piste bashers. It is no coincidence that the Adelboden ski area was awarded the gold medal last winter in the major ski area test in Switzerland for its excellent slopes and trails, further underscoring its strong commitment in this area. In addition, several driving safety courses will be offered on the slopes of the Adelboden ski area during the peak season in December and January.

Adelboden Snowli Card

Children under six can ski for free this winter around the ski hotels in Adelboden near Bern. The so-called “Snowli Card” is a special ski pass for the youngest visitors, valid on all lifts except those on Betelberg. Anyone looking for a change of pace during their ski holiday in the Alps can visit the Tropenhaus Frutigen from November 21. After completing its move, it will reopen its doors on that date—well before the ski season begins in Adelboden on December 12, 2009.
