New Damüls-Mellau ski area in the 3-Täler region
The 3-Täler region comprises the Lechtal, Großes Walsertal and Bregenzerwald, and lies south and east of Lake Constance in Austria. As one of the largest ski areas in the Alps, the 3-Täler region is well known to most winter sports enthusiasts, as shown by the heavy use of the pistes and cross-country trails in the Bregenzerwald, Großes Walsertal and Lechtal. Starting this winter, the previously separate ski areas of Damüls and Mellau are joining forces, creating several synergies for themselves, but especially for skiers, snowboarders and cross-country skiers.

Damüls-Mellau ski area
The 2009/10 winter season at the new Damüls-Mellau ski area begins on December 19, 2009, the weekend before Christmas. With a total of 93 pistes and cross-country trails, the Damüls-Mellau ski area now offers a complete range of winter sports, from alpine skiing and snowboarding to cross-country skiing. The merger was made possible by the installation of a gondola lift that starts in Mellau and serves all the lifts in the ski region on its circuit. The charming ski hotels and holiday apartments in Damüls and Mellau round off the new offering in Austria's 3-Täler region.

Bargain hunters in the Großes Walsertal, Bregenzerwald and Lechtal can also benefit this winter from the 3-Täler Pass, which provides access to winter sports throughout the entire area. This combined pass entitles holders to use the lifts and cable cars in the 3-Täler region and can also be used as a ticket on various bus routes. Anyone visiting the 3-Täler region in summer as well should opt for the annual pass, which also includes free admission to the region's outdoor pools and summer toboggan runs. The 3-Täler Pass can be purchased either locally or online.
