Vintage cars from across Europe at the Kitzbühel Alpine Rally

The Hahnenkamm in Kitzbühel, where one of the most spectacular and prestigious downhill races in alpine skiing takes place in winter, will be devoted to motorsport in early June (03. – 06.06.). The Kitzbühel Alpine Rally, now being held for the 22nd time, is expected to bring vintage cars from across Europe to the ski resort. Driven by prominent figures from sport, film, business and motorsport, they will travel through the Alps in Tyrol, Bavaria and the Salzburg region. For the first time, German motorsport legends Hans-Joachim “Striezel“ Stuck and Sepp Greger will also be taking the start in Kitzbühel. At the grand age of 94, Greger will also be the oldest participant in the Kitzbühel Alpine Rally.

The Kitzbühel Alpine Rally gets under way on Wednesday (3 June) with the inspection of the vintage cars, which must have been built between 1929 and 1981. This gives vintage-car fans the chance to get a close look at the historic vehicles and perhaps even get an autograph from one of the prominent drivers. The following afternoon, the first short stage will take the vintage cars on a 60-kilometre route through the Alpine foothills around Kitzbühel. On Friday, the main stage will cover 350 kilometres, taking the cars to Lake Chiemsee in Bavaria and finally back to Kitzbühel. On Saturday, the route goes around the Wilder Kaiser in the Alps, before the traditional vehicle parade through the town centre brings the Kitzbühel Alpine Rally to a close in the afternoon.

A total of 32 car makes will be represented at the Kitzbühel Alpine Rally around the Hahnenkamm, including Ferrari, Porsche, Jaguar, Bentley, Aston Martin and Rolls Royce.
