Ski Cross Race in Urach (Black Forest)

The Ski Cross series organized under the auspices of the German Ski Association (DSV) will be visiting the Black Forest this coming weekend, specifically Urach, a district of the municipality of Vöhrenbach. Urach is located around 30 kilometers east of Freiburg and 15 kilometers north of Titisee-Neustadt. Excellent snow conditions and exciting competitions on the slopes promise to make one of the final races in the DSV Ski Cross series a top event.

The event’s main races take place on Sunday. In Urach in the Black Forest, participants can also earn valuable points in both the DSV Ski Cross and giant slalom rankings. Ski Cross is largely based on the rules of alpine skiing competitions, but is sure to keep athletes and spectators on the edge of their seats until the finish line. In Ski Cross, four racers compete against one another at the same time on the same course, and only the fastest in each heat make it through to the next round. Spectacular overtaking maneuvers and race action are practically guaranteed.

Although Urach is a relatively small place compared with the other stops on the DSV Ski Cross series, the sport’s top racers are always happy to come to the Black Forest. Excellent conditions for competition and an enthusiastic audience regularly make this DSV Ski Cross series race an event where the line between sport and partying is blurred, especially after the races have ended.
