Snowpen Air Festival on the Kleine Scheidegg
The Snowpen Air on the Kleine Scheidegg is not only one of Switzerland’s best-known and best-attended music festivals, but also undoubtedly the highest-altitude festival in the German-speaking world. The 12th edition of the Snowpen Air Festival takes place at exactly 2,061 metres above sea level in early April, at the foot of the Eiger, Jungfrau and Mönch. On 4 April, this year’s Snowpen Air Festival in the Bernese Oberland will feature an exceptionally strong lineup. Its headliners will be none other than Uriah Heep and Joe Cocker, both performing in Switzerland.
Uriah Heep now look back on a career spanning almost 40 years and are undisputedly considered among the founders of modern hard rock. Although the band’s lineup has changed several times over the decades, Uriah Heep have lost none of their class. Guitarist Mick Box is the band’s only remaining founding member. Uriah Heep will once again prove their reputation as one of the best live bands on the Kleine Scheidegg.
Following Uriah Heep, soul legend Joe Cocker will take to the stage beneath the Jungfrau, Mönch and Eiger. Joe Cocker began his remarkable career in 1969, when he performed at the legendary Woodstock, the mother of all festivals. His gravelly voice and truly unique stage presence have become Joe Cocker’s trademarks.
